Uwell is simply one of the very best names in vape tanks. I am doing a Uwell Aeglos tank pod review here on Hemp Unfiltered because I believe that people interested in CBD should utilize the best products. And look, the CBD vaping products coming out now may be ok. But I am more comfortable with the companies that have been making vaping products for a decade or more. Uwell among them. When I first saw the price of the Aeglos tank pod, I thought I was looking at a misprint. You can buy this thing for about $15. And that includes six coils! Unbelievable low price. And for a Uwell!
Here’s the deal, if the Uwell Aeglos tank review performs like other Uwell tanks, expect high marks. And in case you are short on time, spoiler alert, the Uwell Aeglos review results are in. I give it a 7.5 out of 10. There are a couple of things that I would change. For example, the e-liquid refill port is on the side of the tank. I would put it on the top. But they can’t because the top of the tank is one solid piece. Okay. No problem. Pretty minor. On the other hand, the coils pop in and out with ease. I like that. But all of this is secondary to two main factors:
- Aeglos matches Uwell’s history of quality vaping
- The tank is an unreal value at about $15
A vape tank as good as a Uwell for only $15 is the ultimate selling point. And that alone deserves an excellent review.
Uwell Aeglos Tank Pod Review
The Uwell Aeglos tank pod review process lasted about a week. In that time, I tried the 1.2 ohm coil with hemp cbd vape liquid. and the 0.2 ohm coil with VG CBD vape juice. I found the flavor to be excellent. The mesh coils deliver very good flavor.
The Aeglos is called a tank pod system. But the tank uses a standard 510 connection. The 510 connection works with almost any vape mod. For instance, I used it with the eLeaf iSolo S that I reviewed a few weeks ago.
Can I Vape Hemp CBD E-Liquid With The Uwell Aeglos?
Yes you can. However, they type of CBD hemp vape juice used depends on which coil you are using. The six available coils for the Uwell Aeglos are both subohm and regular vape coils. To be clear, only one of the Aeglos coils is above 1.0 ohms. With that coil use a 50/50 e-juice. The rest of the five coils measure less than 1.0 ohms. That means that the electric resistance is less than 1.0 ohms. Without getting technical what that means for you is that you have to use a hemp or CBD vape liquid with a VG base. At least 70% VG. Make sure you use the right juice with the right coil.
- VG stands for vegetable glycerin. A common food additive and preservative.
- PG stands for propylene glycol. Also a common additive found in items such as shampoo, toothpaste, inhalers.
- VG and PG make up the bulk of an e-liquid. The CBD, nicotine, or flavors are blended in.
Aeglos Vape Juice Guide
- UN-2 Meshed-H 0.18 ohm coil – vape liquid with at least 70% VG content
- UN-2 Meshed-H 0.2 ohm coil – vape liquid with at least 70% VG content
- Aeglos UN-1 Meshed-H 0.6 ohm coil – vape with liquid that has at least 70% VG content.
- UN-2 Meshed-H 0.23 ohm coil – use liquid with 70% or more VG
- UN-2 Meshed-H 1.2 ohm coil – use with a vape liquid that is 50% VG and 50% PG
- The Aeglos 0.8 ohm coil is kind of an in-betweener. Hemp Unfiltered recommends a 50/50 juice.
I know. You look at these different liquids with different coils and think “I just want to vape, keep it simple!” Don’t worry. It is simple. The vast majority of vape juices on the market are either 50/50 blends or 70% VG. You will have no problem finding either.
Also, if using a vape mod, make sure you dial in the proper power setting for each Uwell Aeglos coil:
- 0.18 ohm coil – 44 watts to 60 watts
- 0.2 ohm coil – 45 watts to 52 watts
- 0.23 ohm coil – 40 watts to 45 watts
- 0.6 ohm coil – 23 watts to 27 watts
- 0.8 ohm coil – 20 watts to 23 watts
- 1.2 ohm coil – 10 watts to 13 watts
Always prime your coils. Start out at the lowest wattage setting for the first four or five puffs. Slowly increase until reaching the desired vapor output.
I have reviewed a lot of vape tanks for Hemp Unfiltered. And indeed I enjoy vaping CBD. But when I think of pod systems I think of devices that use pods that insert into the body of a larger vape device. I don’t know why they are calling this a tank pod. The current vaping market favors pod systems, especially the expensive disposables. Perhaps Uwell wants to capitalize on the popularity of pods. However, you would think Uwell would not need any type of gimmick to sell tanks. They are one of the top names in vape tanks and always have been. I don’t think they have ever made a bad vape tank. Sure, some are better than others but in general Uwell has been a leader. Maybe pods have taken such a big bite of the market that Uwell felt compelled to try using “pod” in the product name to garner market acceptance.
For CBD vapers, we prefer tanks to pod systems. So, we are cool with you, Uwell! Maybe vape tank companies need to cater more to the hemp and CBD market. After all, we are just getting started. Contrast that to the state of vaping where regulation wipes out almost everyone except the big tobacco brands. Nonetheless, this is a vape tank with a 510 connection that connects to a vape mod.
The one that that could make this conceivable fit in the pod category is how the coils fit into the tank. In that case, the coils pop in like a pod. I suppose it makes sense from that angle. And I really like the design. The vapor and flavor are excellent. Exactly what you expect from Uwell. That you can get it for such a low price is pretty amazing. It used to be that a decent vape tank cost at least $30. At least! For a tank as diverse as this, with Uwell quality,m for half of that price is pretty unexpected.
